Mechanical Engineer (f/m/d) for Humanoid
100% Zürich
Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon – a global leader in precision measurement. Established in 2025, Hexagon Robotics develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and enable the transition from automation to autonomy. The first humanoid product, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and combines agility, awareness, spatial intelligence and versatility to provide a market-leading solution for automotive, transportation, aerospace, manufacturing, and logistics customers.
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the core design team. You will take ownership of various humanoid subsystems, moving them from initial concept through to functional prototyping and early production.
This role is perfect for an engineer who has mastered the fundamentals and is ready to tackle the complex mechanical challenges of bipedal robotics, high-torque actuators, and lightweight structural design.
Your Mission
-
Mechanical Design for Robotics: Develop and refine mechanical components for humanoid robots, including structural frames, protective housings, and sensor/actuator mounting solutions.
-
End-to-End Development: Contribute to all stages of the product lifecycle—from concept design and prototyping to testing and transition into series production.
-
Ownership & Accountability: Take responsibility for key subassemblies, ensuring high-quality design and timely delivery.
-
Testing & Validation: Perform rigorous testing to confirm reliability, durability, and compliance with safety standards.
-
Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed assembly instructions and technical documentation to support initial production runs.
Your Skillset
- Advanced education (FH) or university degree (BSc, MSc, PhD) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years in the design and development of complex electro-mechanical products for series production.
- Proficiency in CAD, ideally Siemens NX. Deep and practical knowledge in mechatronics design, including experience managing complex assemblies using PDM.
- Solid understanding of common manufacturing processes; experience with tooled parts is a strong advantage.
What You’ll Get
- Flexible working hours and a hybrid model for real work-life balance
- Generous vacation: 25–30 days depending on age
- CHF 500 mobility credit for sustainable commuting
- Bonus system & strong pension contributions
- Tailored training & development opportunities
- Relocation support for a smooth start
- Discounts on health, mobility & entertainment
- Team events and a flat hierarchy where your voice counts
